Elementary (Grades 1-6)

Learning Through Connecting At Our Calgary Elementary School

Our elementary school years begin at a time of dramatic physical growth and brain development. Our challenging curriculum inspires them. Our program of studies allows them to try new activities, join new teams, and find their passions. We pay attention to their social and emotional needs, weaving character education through all aspects the learning on a daily basis. We examine how we treat each other, how our actions impact others, and how we can own our mistakes and bounce back from failure. There is more to a school than its academics, and at ASASA, there are many opportunities for students to participate in life outside the classroom, from field trips to community service. Our Academy provide education that is more than mandatory curriculum of Alberta Education. We transform our students to life long learners.

Program Of Studies

Core Curriculum

At ASASA Academy, we focus on core curriculum for Grade 1-6 outlined by Alberta Education that includes English, Math, Science, Social Studies, History, and Geography

Information Technology

ASASA Academy has an in-house computer lab and students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 learn how to use computers and software programs. In IT curriculum, we focus on the complete Microsoft Office program and much more.

French Language

Canada is a bilingual country and ASASA believes that our students should have the opportunity to learn the French language

Arts

From Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6, our Arts program involves students as creators and performers. The Fine Arts enable students to enhance the depth of their expression.

Drama

Drama is a very important subject in the curriculum at ASASA Academy. Students perform in front of audiences twice a year. Drama performances allow students to be able to express their emotions and develop confidence.

Music

At ASASA, we give students skills and concepts of music. These classes are delivered by a Music specialist that focus on singing, playing instruments and composition.

Physical Education

We offer organized sports to students that prepare them for a lifetime of activity. Not only do students who play organized sports become more physically fit, they also have higher self-esteem. Students learn cooperation, self-discipline and social skills.

Benefits Of The Asasa Elementary Program

School

Curriculum

Students who enter our academy learn much more than the basic curriculum mandated by Alberta Education.

Asasa Academy Strengths

Advanced lesson plans that incorporate a variety of topics in Mathematics and English.

Out-Of-The-Box Thinking

Our homework assignments force students to be innovative and flex their creative muscle.

Teachers Who Inspire

At ASASA, our teachers not only want to teach—they want to teach this age group. They understand the distinctive ways students learn so that in the classroom, they are providing the most up-to-date instruction possible. Beyond sharing their knowledge and expertise, they'll incorporate technology in the classroom so that learning is fun, stimulating, and interactive. Our teachers, students, and parents are valued at ASASA. You'll treasure the fact that your child is truly happy and excited about learning. That's what happens when you surround students with teachers who are truly inspiring.

The ASASA Elementary School Difference

Our homework assignments encourage thinking outside the box and students are taught innovative problem solving skills. We maintain small classes sizes with an average of 15 to 20 students in each classroom to maximize one-on-one time with students. This ensures that each student gets maximum time with the teacher for individual concerns. Help your child achieve their academic potential with Asasa Academy.
